LAUDERDALE COUNTY-On Wednesday, February 25 Brooks High School teacher Ashton McCluskey, 27 turned herself in to authorities after being indicted on charges she had sexual contact with a student according to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office.
In January the incident between McClusky and a student was under investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation. According to Sheriff Rick Singelton the incident was turned over to SBI due to the fact the alleged incident involved a sheriff’s department employee. McClusky was placed on administrate leave at that time.
McClusky has bee charged with two counts of Sexual Conduct With a Student under the age of 17 and has been released on a $50,000 bond with the exception she not have contact with directly or indirectly with the victim.
The charges in this case are class B Felony charges and hold a sentence of 2 to 20 years.
