Thomas Eugene Gipson Sr

Age 92 of White House passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Hendersonville Medical Center. He was born August 30, 1928 in Nashville, TN to Odell & Mildred Cherry Gipson. He was the long time owner of the Smoke House Restaurant on Highway 31W and also served as a volunteer EMT for the White House Fire Department. He is retired from the U.S. Marines, where he proudly served his country in active duty during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gwen Gipson; brother, Stanly; sisters Ethel, Dorothy, Bertie & Becky; son-in-laws, Tom Day & Bruce Hurry. He is survived by his son, Tom (Pat) Gipson, Florida; daughters, Sharon Denton, White House, TN, Kathy Hurry, SC and GiGi Gipson, Washington; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, April, Jeremy, Catherine, Lynn, Christy and Sara; 16 great-grandchildren. There are no services or visitation planned at this time. His ashes will be inurned in the Columbarium at Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date with full military honors.
