Graveside Services for Mrs. Mary Jo Wilkerson, age 90 of Lincoln, were held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Gilead Community Cemetery with Rev. Zenus Windsor, Rev. Jimmy Brand and Corey Railey officiating.
Mrs. Wilkerson passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Wilkerson was born in Talladega County, and also lived in Clay and Randolph County. She worked most of her life as an inspector at Klegs manufacturing in Wadley, and worked with her husband Rollie, in many different avenues, including lawn care and owners of Wilkerson’s Grocery. She enjoyed working with crafts, going camping, gardening and tending to her pretty flowers. She was a worker, and dearly loved her family. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Community Church.
Mrs. Wilkerson is survived by three daughters: Patricia Mitchell (Alvin) of Lincoln, Donna Kay Horn (Michael) of Ashland, and Connie Railey (Gaylord) of Wadley; 7 grandchildren: Anthony Mitchell (Kiara), Christopher Mitchell (Cally), Jason Mitchell, Rodney Carr (Dawn), Lynn Carr (Connie), Corey Railey (Krystal), and Donicia Mabo (Evans); 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Hurst of Talladega, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Robert Hurst and Mary Emily Williams Hurst; her husband, Rollie Wilkerson; one grandson, Joshua Matthew Railey; one great-granddaughter, Serenity Mitchell; and two brothers, Edward and Billy Ray Hurst.
Her grandsons will serve as active pallbearers; her granddaughter will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
