Beverly Ann Bright departed this life at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on January 12, 2021. She was the eldest of three children born to Edward and Verna Mae Bright who preceded her in death. Beverly was educated in the Franklin County School system and attended MTSU. She was employed for 38 years at Suntrust Bank as a supervisor before her retirement in 2010. Throughout the county she was involved in various organizations. She was a dedicated member of the reunion committee for the “Class of 1969,” Franklin County Library trustee, past member of the Martin Luther King scholarship Foundation, and the Winchester City Council. Before her passing she was a foster grandparent at South Central Human Resource Agency for the Franklin County School System. Beverly accepted Christ into her life at an early age and remained faithful to her church, First Missionary Baptist Church, until her passing. She served as a Sunday school teacher, usher, choir member, and treasurer. Many would say that if you met her she never thought of you as a stranger. Beverly leaves to mourn two sisters, Betty Bright and Brenda Bright Walker of Winchester, TN; a favorite niece, Jillian Walker of Murfreesboro, TN; a favorite nephew, Jalen Walker of Winchester, TN; one uncle, Walter (Katie) Bright of Winchester, TN; and a host of cousins and friends. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, with the funeral service following at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Philip Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at Farris Chapel Cemetery. The family requests that all attendants please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
