Shirley Jane Steele Shirley Jane Steele, age 63 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville. She was born in Cook, IL on March 6, 1957 to the late, Gilbert Joe and Precious Galilee Ashley Steele. Shirley traveled the open roads for about 20 years working as a truck driver. When she wasn’t on the road she could be found doing oil paintings, paint by numbers, reading, or playing rook and uno. She preferred to spend time outside more than inside and would regularly be found tending to her flowers and plants in her garden. Shirley was a very loving and amazing lady inside and out, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Carolyn Steele and Dan Steele; son, Harold Richard Hoover; grandson, Chase Richard Allen Hoover; and brother-in-law, Jim Steele. She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Ivan) Hutto of Belvidere; significant other of 10 years, Chuck Bailey of Winchester; grandchildren, Faith Hoover, Shelby Hoover, Chance Hoover; sisters, Fay (Jammie) Burch of Tullhoma, Wanda (John) Williams of Yuma, AZ; sister-in-law, Claudia Steele of Illinois; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, January 15, 2021 in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with David Pinion officiating.
