Kay Eastep Mardis, 71 of Arab passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. Kay was born March 2, 1949 in Arab the daughter of T. H. “Tut” Eastep and Roberta Shelton Eastep. Kay was a graduate of Arab High School Class of 1967, attended the University of Alabama receiving a degree in education. She was a Home Economics Teacher at Arab High School until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the Arab First Baptist Church.
Kay is survived by her Children: Jeff Mardis (Michelle) of Birmingham and Jennifer King (Ty) of Arab; Grandchildren: Anna Mardis, Mallory Mardis, Kayleigh King and Lawson King; Brother: Billy Eastep (Becky) of Madison; Brother-in-law: Kenny Mardis (Linda) of Guntersville. She was preceded in death by: Husband: Mike Mardis; Parents: Tut and Roberta Eastep.
For the wellbeing of the family and friends there will be a PRIVATE SERVICE at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Arab First Baptist Church with Paul Murphy officiating. The service will be live streamed via the Arab First Baptist Church website, Arabfbc.org, You Tube and Facebook. Burial will follow in the Arab Memorial Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel Directing.
