Ilaween M. White, age 100, of Rainbow City, Alabama passed away on Friday, January 01, 2021. Due to Covid-19, a private funeral service will be held for the family. Bro. Chris Terrell will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. White was born in 1920, in St. Clair County but resided in Etowah County her adult life. She was a long-time member of the White Springs Baptist Church in Rainbow City, Alabama. Mrs. White loved to work in her yard, grow and harvest vegetables, and care for her family. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Harold F. White; parents, Charles and Laura Jo Morgan; nine of her ten siblings; and son-in-law, J. Calvin Shaw. Mrs. White is survived by her children, H. Wayne White and his wife Pat; Jane Shaw; and J. Phil White. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Additional survivors include her brother Thomas B. Morgan and his wife Rosemary; sister-in-law Iva Morgan; and a host of nieces and nephews who knew her as “Aunt Julie”. The family would like to express appreciation to her caregivers Allison Simpson; and Sherry Williams, and April Barton; and the Amedisys Hospice team, especially Kelli White, R.N. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the White Springs Baptist Church general fund or to the charity of your choice.
