Graveside services for Mrs. Waynette Graben Smith, age 79 of Delta, were held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the Delta Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Porter officiating.
Mrs. Smith passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Clay County Hospital. Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Clay County, living in Barfield and Delta mostly, and worked most of her life as a seamstress. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, dirt and street bikes with her family, liked to hunt and collect coins. She always had a kind word about everybody and always wanted to help people. Mrs. Smith enjoyed cooking and feeding people, and according to her sons, “She mothered everyone”. She was a member of Good Hope Delta Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Connie McDonald (John) of Lineville; two sons: Jeff Smith (Beverly) of Dadeville and John Smith (Lee) of Lineville; 8 grandchildren: Wesley, Keri Corey, Skyler, Kimberly, Shannon, and Madison; 11 great-grandchildren and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Graben and Pauleen Yates, and her two siblings, James Graben and Joy Mitchell.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of arrangements.
