Leon Caldwell, age 88 of Tullahoma passed away January 3, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 13, 1932 to the late Elmer Roger Caldwell and Ida Izorra Cleek Caldwell. He was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his family and his church family (all of whom he loved to supervise). He loved gardening, farming and being outdoors. He lived life to its fullest despite having polio since he was 13 and being wheelchair bound for many of his later years in life. He was employed at Genesco Shoes until the factory closed. He also worked at UTSI for a short time before he went to work at Eaton Corporation. He retired from there in 1994. In addition to his parents, Clofton was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Wylodean Hale Caldwell; brothers, Clyde Caldwell, Cecil Caldwell and Clarence Caldwell; sisters, Jessie Mae Jones and Virginia Turner. He is survived by his children, Charles (Melissa) Caldwell of Winchester, Dale (Joyce) Caldwell of Tullahoma and Deanna (Ronnie) Cunningham of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Chasity (Jon) Larmoyeux of Knoxville, Courtney (Robert) Tipps of Hattiesburg, MS, Ron (Ashlee) Cunningham of Lynchburg, Chelsea Cunningham (Adam Martin) of Lynchburg, Sarah Caldwell of Tullahoma and Nathaniel Caldwell of Tullahoma; great-grandchildren, Carson, Coleman, Case and Camille Tipps, Henry and Owen Larmoyeux. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Moore-Cortner Chapel with Tracy Foster and Brian Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove UMC Cemetery. Ron Cunningham, Nathaniel Caldwell, Adam Martin, Ronnie Caldwell, Bradley Buchanan and Stephen Farrington will be serving as pallbearers.
