Joseph Andrew Benefield Joseph Andrew Benefield, 61, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Tuesday in his home after fighting pancreatic cancer since November 2018. Andy passed at 9:30 a.m. surrounded by his loved ones.

Andy was born to Wilma Lumpkin and Buel Eugene Benefield in Gadsden. After graduating from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Andy worked for UPS where he earned multiple awards for his sales, as well as his exceptional service and dedication to the company.

In 2011, Andy married the love of his life, Lynn Benefield, and then retired from UPS at the age of 55, which was his lifetime career goal. Andy enjoyed spending time with family, playing the drums in his band, Full Circle, as well as his church praise band, cooking out, and watching Alabama football.

Andy is survived by his wife, Lynn Benefield; children, Cameron Benefield, Jacob Lybrand, and Randy and Sara Socha; granddaughter, Grace Socha; sisters, Deanna Sumner (Jim) and Pam Wyatt (Burk); brothers, Ben (Juana), Bruce (Maria-Lyn), Phillip (Cindy), and Jon Parker (Jane); his mother and father-in-law, Richard and Sara Stone; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives who loved him dearly.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Clearview Cancer Institute of Huntsville for all of their hard work.
