Jackie Maries Barnett, age 84 of Lynchburg, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Morning Pointe of Tullahoma. He was born in Harvest, Alabama on January 24, 1936 to the late Oliver H. and Jewell (Craig) Barnett. Jackie served his country in the United States Air Force. He continued his career in aviation, working as an aircraft instrument technician at McDonald-Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri on the F101 Voodoo jet, and then at AEDC until his retirement. Jackie was a devoted member of Hickory Hill Baptist Church. He was an avid woodsman, bird watcher, and whistler. Jackie is survived by his loving children, Wesley (Felicia) Barnett of Belvidere, Anthony (Cindy) Barnett of Lynchburg, and Penny (Barry) Stone of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Drew (Carrie) Barnett, Caleb (Michelle) Barnett, and Patrick Stone; and great-grandchildren, Ezra Barnett, Asher Barnett, and Wayland Barnett. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Lynchburg Cemetery with military honors bestowed.
