James Earl Blackburn, age 93 of Gurley passed away December 26, 2020.
He is survived by his niece, Elizabeth Ann Moore; nephew, Jim Moore; cousins, Shirley McCormick, Mary Drakey, Alice Lawler, and Ann Hulsey; and two awesome caregivers, Linda Orr, and Lisa Dunn.
Mr. Blackburn was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lucy Blackburn, two sisters, Lucy Blackburn Moore, and Nell Blackburn Isbell.
He was a lifelong resident of Madison County, and lived in Hurricane Valley community all his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War, and retired from the Alabama National Guard, and was a retired farmer.
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Locust Grove Cemetery.
