On Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020, Carthell Williams, loving husband and friend to everyone he met, entered his eternal rest at the age of 72.
Carthell was born on February 4th, 1948, in Jasper, Alabama. He worked as a superintendent for several mining companies over the course of more than 20 years. On May 1st, 1986, he married the love of his life, Anita Lollar. Together they raised two sons, Carthell II and Charlie.
Carthell had stories that never ended and loved more than anything to tell them. He loved telling his great-nieces about the family history, singing to babies in the nursery, and bringing a smile to the face of those around him with his big laugh and even bigger heart. To know Carthell was to be welcomed into his family.
Carthell was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Lola Williams and his sister, Gloria.
He is survived by his wife, Anita, his sons, Carthell II (Brittney) and Charlie (Sarah Alyce), his granddaughter, Bailey, Madison Beasley for whom he was a father figure, his niece Alonna (James, Jamalon and Kierstyn), and several cousins and extended family members.
A memorial will be held for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Carthell’s honor to The Gideons International, Walker County Camp, PO Box 3653, Jasper, AL 35502-3653 or Maryland Lodge #783, Sipsey, AL.
