Joan Petrasek Pate, 77, of Jasper, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at Kirkwood by the River. Graveside service will be held on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at 11 a.m., at Boldo Cemetery, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing.
Joan was raised in Birmingham. She graduated from Walker County High School and then earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from UAB. She retired from Bell South. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother. She will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hillery Pate; son, Clarence Todd Pate; parents, John Hiram Petrasek and Dorothy Entrekin Petrasek.
She is survived by her children, John Thomas Pate (Laura), Kathryn Pate Patrick (Stephen) and Lisa Joan Pate; grandchildren, Heather Pate Godwin (Joseph) and Lauren Ashley Hughes; brother, John Burns Petrasek; sister, Jeanie Petrasek Levy; brother-in-law, Clarence Wade Pate (Melaina) and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
