Funeral service for Mr. Ronald Roy Mahal, Sr., age 83 of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 12 PM on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Richard McWilliams officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery.
Ron was born on March 13, 1937 in Chicago, IL, to the late Raymond George and Dorothy Donoghy Mahal. He worked as an engineer for Amana until his retirement. After retirement, he served on the board for the Fayetteville- Lincoln County Regional Airport Authority, member of the Ethics Committee of Lincoln County Commission, and Past Board Chairman of the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Industrial Board. Ron was a private pilot for over twenty years, as well as, a HAM radio operator. He enjoyed traveling in his airplane with his wife all over the country. On a warm sunny day you would see him riding in his convertible enjoying the beautiful Tennessee Hills. Ron was a member of the Wells Hill Church of Christ. He passed away on December 9, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN.
Survivors include his sons, Ronald Roy Mahal, Jr. of Muskegon, MI and Barry (Marybeth) Mahal of York, SC; grandchildren, Kristen Ann (Randy) Sturgis of Muskegon, MI, Kelly (Zachary) Van Osdol of Holland, MI, Staci (Matt) Humphries of Chamalieres, France, Alyssa (Jason) Speller of York, SC, and Samantha (Jeffrey) Miller of Kingsport, TN; great-grandchildren, Erika and Olivia Sturgis, Lucas, Jackson, and Emma Van Osdol, and Lillian Humphries; brothers, Keith (Judy) Mahal of Peidmont, MO and Dale (Bertie) Mahal of Cedarburg, WI. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Faye Mahal.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until 12 PM on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Higgins Funeral Home.
