Betty Jane Bryan 87, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born in Decatur, Alabama to James and Era Norwood. Mrs Bryan was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Decatur, she was a graduate of Decatur High where she was a cheerleader, Auburn University where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and she was a member Delta Kappa Gamma. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, William James Bryan, brother James Nathaniel Norwood Jr., sister Margaret Ann Fredrick. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Bryan Lewis (Charles); son, Norwood Bryan (Kathy); grandchildren, Sarah Bryan Pearson (Thomas), William Hardage Lewis, Charles Anderson Lewis (Hallye); Anna Laura Bryan Strider (David) and William James Bryan; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church with Reverend Jack Lovelace officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Private family burial will follow at Decatur City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Chapel Renovation Building Fund at First Baptist Church.
