Milburne Wayne Ricketts

Milburne Wayne Ricketts, age 93, of Huntsville passed away November 4th, 2020.  He was born in Edmond, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda DeKing and son, Gary (Sherry), five grandchildren, Robert Dennis (Gail), Mike Dennis (Lark), Angie Watwood (James), Keith Ricketts (Lana), Shelley Henson (Randall), five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Beverly, parents Lloyd and Mildred Ricketts, and two siblings.

Wayne was a World War II veteran that served in the Coast Guard, Army, and Air Force.  He retired from the Boeing Company where he worked on airplanes, rockets, and the space station.  He also worked for General Electric on the skylab.

His passions were boating, water skiing, and traveling the United States in their travel trailer with the love of his life, Beverly.  He was also a member in the Masonic Lodge for 55 years, the Scottish Rite, and past member of the Cahaba Shrine Temple where he was known as “Cricket the Clown”.

Thanks to the seventh floor doctors and nursing staff at Huntsville Hospital, and a special thanks to the staff at Huntsville Hospital Hospital Family Care.

No services are planned at this time.  Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.  He will be laid to rest in Miller Cemetery, New Market, AL.
