Katherine Jenkins Tabor, age 79 of Estill Springs, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester. Katherine was born on January 16, 1941 in Detroit, MI to the late James “J.J.” Bradley and Evelynn Lane Jenkins. She was employed at and eventually retired from AEDC as a travel manager. In her free time she greatly enjoyed cooking and working in her flower garden. She was a very active member in the Democratic Party and an avid recycler. She loved to attend yard sales and would always make a point to buy something, if not she would apologize for not getting something. Katherine was a strong willed woman, with a heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone, and loved being around others. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, James Brooke Barstad. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Ernie Tabor of Estill Springs; children, Dane Bradley Barstad of Estill Springs, Russell David (Cathy) Barstad of Coolidge, GA, Clay DeWayne (Melonie) Barstad Jr. of Cookeville; step-children, Mark Phillip (Tracy) Tabor of Morrison, TN, Kimberly Ann (Pat) Sisom of Manchester; grandchildren, Hannah, Caitlyn, Augustus, Dawn, Jennifer, Dylan, Peyton, Tori; step-grandchildren, Jessica, Colton, Macy, Leslie, Megan, Olivia, Patrick; 5 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. on Friday, October 30, 2020, with a service following at 2:00 P.M. Location of the service will be announced at a later time.
