Brenda Gail PhillipsBrenda Gail Key Phillips, 72, of New Hope, passed away Sunday.

Brenda worked at the local bank in New Hope for over 20 years and loved helping all the local patrons with the banking needs. After a long career she retired in 2007 to take care of her mother who fell ill. In 1988, Brenda and Henry worked tirelessly with Louise Mathews to establish the Elizabeth Carpenter Public Library where they volunteered their time for 7 years. Before her banking days she spent 10 years as a stay at home mother taking care of her children where she helped with school activities such as volunteering as the school nurse, class parties and nurturing her children. For several years she and Henry served as band booster and athletic boosters. She was fierce in her faith with grace and courage and a proud member of the Hebron Church of Christ in Hebron, Al. She enjoyed being part of a close net community. When the need arose Brenda served as treasurer on the Hayden Cemetery Board for several years. A true community supporter who loved her community will be missed.
