James Robert Crossland, age 76 of Manchester passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville. James was born on October 5, 1943 to the late Robert Love and Bessie Mae O’Dell Crossland in Franklin County. He served in the National Guard and was later employed until his retirement with Sterling doing shipping and receiving. In his free time he loved to be in the mountains hunting or out on the lake fishing. He was strong willed and very hardworking. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Crossland Jr. He is survived by his wife, Judy Crossland; son, Tommy (Theresa) Crossland of Manchester; step-daughter, Kendra Payne (Eric) Belland of Ridgeland, South Carolina; step-son, Kelly Payne of Ridgeland, South Carolina; grandchildren, Samantha (Cody) Degraff of Manchester, Alexandra (Yngwie) Hamrick of Manchester; Jacquelyn Crossland of Manchester; siblings, William Parker (Carolyn) Crossland of Elk Heart, Texas, Thomas F. (Sue) Crossland of Winchester; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. Monday, October 5, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, with Funeral Service following at 3:00 P.M. Interment will be at Cowan-Montgomery Cemetery.
