William Stanley (Stan) Lipscomb, age 73, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020. Stan was born September 7, 1947 to Will Henry and Vera Vaughan Lipscomb in Cartersville, Georgia. He spent his childhood and teen years in Cartersville, graduating from Cartersville High School in 1965. He received a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Georgia in 1969. After serving in the United States Army for three years and receiving an honorable discharge, Stan returned to college and earned his master’s degree in both accounting and economics.
Stan worked for the U.S. General Accounting Office from 1972 to 2005 as an Auditor. He enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, spending time with his daughter, and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother in law, James Hilton. He is survived by his daughter, Vaughan Lipscomb Smith and husband, Brandon; sister, Veda Lipscomb Hilton and life partner, Rosemary Harris Brunhoeber.
Friends and family are invited to attend services on Saturday, October 10th, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
