John V. R. Gegumis

He was born in Memphis, the son of the late John Gegumis and Gloria Durham Gegumis of Grand Junction, TN, who survives. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Annette Insco.

Mr. Gegumis had been a chef and owner of O Kypos Restaurant in downtown Memphis. He served in the US Navy from 1969 – 1973 and had lived all over the world, including Greece, before settling down in Grand Junction for the last 10-15 years.

He leaves his wife, Cecilia Gegumis; two daughters, Sallie Gegumis of Winchester, TN and Anna Sophia Gegumis of Germany; his mother, Gloria Gegumis of Grand Junction; sister, Catherine Allum, also of Grand Junction; brother, Bill Gegumis of Hot Springs, AR; and a granddaughter, April.
