Ethel Meadows Bush, 95, of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully at a local nursing home Aug 29, 2020. Ethel is survived by two sons, Thomas Bush, and Stephen Bush and his wife, Peggy; and twin grandsons, Fin and Jack Bush of Orlando, FL. Ethel was predeceased by her late husband, James Hilson Bush; and son, Andrew Clay Bush.
She was a longtime resident of Huntsville, and an active member of First Baptist Church. She worked at NASA many years in the travel department. Ethel was involved as a Sunday school teacher, and many volunteer community service positions including the personnel committee at First Baptist Church, United Way committees, and several women’s club organizations. Over the years, the Woman’s Club has helped to raise funds for various projects from special equipment for Huntsville Hospital to furniture for the waiting room for victims waiting to testify in Madison County Court. One project she worked on was a booklet called “The First Step”, an informational booklet for parents of children with special needs.
Due to the pandemic and desire to protect the elder family and immunocompromised friends, a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 3rd in the southwest corner of Maple Hill Cemetery for Ethel’s family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations to a local charity.
