David Wayne Phipps, age 68 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A native of Franklin County, David was born on July 21, 1952, to the late Leon and Margaret Smith Phipps. He was employed for 38 years as a mechanical pattern engineer at Wheland Foundry in Chattanooga, and later retired from Mueller Company in Albertville, Alabama after 6 years. David loved his Triumph motorcycles and going on vacation to Florida with his family. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Phipps Zarzour; and sister, Sherrie Phipps. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patsy Phipps of Winchester; sons, Greg Phipps of Winchester, and Ron (Stephanie) Phipps of Trenton, GA; grandson, Austin Norris of Winchester; granddaughter, Zoey Zarzour of Winchester; brother-in-law, Benny Roberts of Winchester; and niece, Jordan Roberts of Winchester. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Bro. Chris Nolan officiating.
