SHEFFIELD-On Sunday, August 23 the Sheffield Police Department received a call reporting a gunshot would to 17th Street. the call came in around 9 AM.
When officers arrived on scene they found Aaron Hunter 30, in the hallway of the home on 17th Street. Officers attempted to resuscitate Mr Hunter before he was taken to Helen Keller Hospital where he was then flown to Huntsville Hospital were he later died from his injuries.
Three guns were found at the scene and one was believed to be the weapon used in the shooting. Four shell casings were recovered from the scene as well.
Sheffield Police have a suspect in custody. The woman being held is believed to be in a relationship with the victim. She was residing at the home with Hunter.
The suspect’s name has not been released nor have charges been levied. The Sheffield Police are working with the Colbert County district Attorney’s office to decide what charges should be filed.
