David Wayne Hamby, 82 of Athens, passed away on Friday, August 21st, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Hamby was born on October 29th, 1937 to Stanford Hamby and Annie Ellenburg Hamby.
The family will have a private graveside service.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara A. Hamby; sons D’Wayne Hamby (Sharon) and Alan Hamby; daughter Malissa Knudtson; grandchildren Tina Hamby, Elizabeth Hamby, Katherine Cagle, and Geoffrey Knudtson; and several great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; son James Robert Hamby; granddaughter Barbara R. Hamby; and 7 siblings.
Never gave up ‘til the Lord called him and took care of everybody ‘til the end.
