Martha Carolyn Sparks, 64, died Monday, August 17, 2020 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. She was born in Paden, MS and was a seamstress. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 19, 4:30 p.m. at Joel Cemetery, Dennis, MS with Haskell Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Joel Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by four children – Lisa Mahan (Tim), Tamera Sparks, Tony Sparks and Michelle McMinn (Gene); seven grandchildren – James Timothy Mahan, Jr., Brianna Howard, Wyatt Smith, Blaze Smith, Alex Sparks, Hunter Wigginton and Trenton Wigginton; one great-grandson and one sister – Judy Hood, Fulton, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Exie Maxwell Gasaway and thirteen brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be J.T. Mahan, Alex Sparks, Hunter Wigginton, Trenton Wigginton, Wyatt Smith and Blaze Smith.

GEORGE D. “BRO. BILLY” CREDILLE

BELMONT, MS – George D. “Bro. Billy” Credille, 91, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Tishomingo Manor in Iuka, MS.  He was born in Belmont to George and Ila D. Duke Credille.  He was a Minister for many years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  He was Postmaster for Belmont and Tishomingo post office and was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 18, 4 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Barry Holcomb officiating.  Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years-Gloria Credille; his daughter-Donna Tramel (Travis); special granddaughter-Brandy Waddle (Justin); one nephew-E.L. Credille and one niece-Pat Sparks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers will be Justin Waddle, Bob McCalpin, Greg Pharr and Tony Sparks.

A walk-through visitation will be Monday, August 17, 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday, 3-4 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church.
