Jody Lorraine Clayton Jones, passed peacefully, at her home, on Saturday, August 15th, at the
age of 60. She was born in Massachusetts on May 18 1960, to George and Marjorie
Clayton and in time, with her parents and siblings moved to Smithville, Tn. Jody met
and married Danny Bond and with whom she bore two sons, Nicholas Luther Bond
and Jacob Daniel Bond. Jody was an adventurous person that loved to view nature in its element, she loved the
mountains of TN, especially Rock Island. She loved spending time with family and
especially her grandchildren, watching them play at the playground while hearing
about their school and life adventures. Jody believed in extending kindness to all life
forms, especially animals. She held an extra-tender spot for all of God’s creatures,
which she would openly take in lost animals that needed a home and would care for
them so lovingly. Jody was a devoted mother and adored her sons Nick and Jake Bond,
and held fond memories of their childhood which she would often share funny stories
with her sons, their wives, and her grandchildren . Jody was a fighter in all aspects of
her life. She fought through a Stage 4 Esophageal cancer diagnosis, fell into remission,
and knew in her heart that it had returned. She continued to fight until the day she took
her last breath. Jody is survived by her two sons Nick and Jake Bond, with their
respective wives Lizbette and Trista. In addition she leaves four grandchildren that
motivated and kept her pushing to live on. Jody adored her grandchildren and loved
receiving photos and hearing stories about their lives. In addition, Jody leaves
behind two brothers and two sisters, with a host of nieces and nephews, and friends.
Jody would like to be remembered for her spirit to live and her heart filled with
happiness when surrounded by those she loved. She will always be in our hearts.
We love you mom, grandma Jody, and now, our own personal angel.
May you rest in peace always.  The family has honored Jody’s request to be cremated and Celebration of life will be announced later.

Remember Me

To the living, I am gone,
To the sorrowful, I will never return,
To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace,
And to the faithful, I have never left.

I cannot speak, but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea,
As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity,
Remember me.

Remember me in your heart:
Your thoughts, and your memories,
Of the times we loved,
The times we cried,
The times we fought,
The times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
