Doris Katrine Lynch Simms, of Winchester, born December 24, 1928, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank LaFayette Lynch, Jr. and Minnie Lura Crouch Lynch; beloved stepmother, Thelma Malinda Harris Lynch; husband, George Franklin Simms; and sons, Frank Edward Simms, Andrew Lynch Beachboard, and Luther William Beachboard. Mrs. Simms graduated from David Lipscomb High School in Nashville. She was an accomplished seamstress and saleswoman, and also enjoyed carrying on the family passion for beautiful home furnishings. Mrs. Simms is survived by her daughter, Kristin Cook of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Winchester City Cemetery, with interment following the service.
