Esther L. Morrison, age 74 of Winchester, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at St. Thomas West. She was born on August 9, 1946 to the late Rev. Orville William Gilbert and Shirley Edith Hyde Gilbert. Esther was a beautiful, sweet lady with a great sense of humor. She loved children and had cared for over fifty in her home over the years. She was born and raised in the Church of God faith and was a member of the Estill Springs Church of God. Esther enjoyed making fudge and baking, especially Georgia Pecan Cake and Carrot Cake. She was a collector of nick-nacks and was particularly fond of strawberries and snowbabies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Faith Gilbert. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Lawrence Morrison of Winchester; children, Bart (Melanie) Morrison of Jonesboro, AR, Chris Morrison of Cleveland, TN, Jim (Bridget) Morrison of Concord, MI, Steve (Shelly) Morrison of Hendersonville, NC, and Faith (Byron) Doggett of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Dr. Joshua (Marie) Morrison, Megan (Shannon) Bailey, Chelsea Morrison, Katlyn Morrison, Graham (Rachael) Morrison, Summer Morrison, Reagan Morrison, Justus Morrison, Lauren Morrison, Kyle Morrison, Daniel Doggett, and Luke Doggett; numerous great-grandchildren and adopted grandchildren; sisters, Eva Jean (Howard) Bartlett of Smyrna, Dorothy (Robert) Mintz of Costa Rica and Fern Gilbert of Largo Beach, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 3-5 pm Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Estill Springs Church of God. Funeral services will follow at 5 pm with Pastor Don Parker officiating.
