Driver Of Vehicle That Struck And Killed Bicyclist In Athens Charged With Murder

ATHENS-On Monday, August 10 Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson issued a follow-up statement regarding the bicyclist that was killed Sunday night.  the driver of the vehicle that hit the cyclist has been charged with murder:

“The fatality from last night’s bicycle accident (Sunday, August 9) on Hines Street was George Randall Kelly Jr he was 17 years old.

This morning, Monday, August 10 the driver of the vehicle that hit Kelly, Tasha Dant Evans was arrested for murder and driving under the influence of alcohol. The investigation into this case is continuing.

Evans is 41 years old and lives at 1401 North Malone Circle in Athens. Evans was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”
