Graveside services for Mr. Wilburn Lee Knight, age 79 of Delta, will be Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. at Antioch Church Cemetery with Bro. George Sewell officiating.
Mr. Knight passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at his home. Mr. Knight was born in Walton County, Georgia, and after brief stints in Loganville and Mansfield Georgia, he moved to Talladega where he lived for 28 years, upon finally settling in Clay County five years ago. Mr. Knight spent most of his life as a farmer, where he loved attending to animals, especially his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Knight of Delta; three daughters: Wilma Knight of Delta, Stephanie Knight of Madison, Ga, and Marie Hood of Childersburg; two sons: Wilburn Knight Jr. of Georgia, and Gene Hood of Talladega; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild; and one sister: Mildred Knight of Monroe, Ga.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Thomas Knight and Lela Criswell Knight; one daughter: Michelle Knight; three sisters: Donnie Knight, Geraldine Smith, and Gracie May Knight; and one brother: Robert Knight.
Derek Hook, Alvin Wilkerson, Gene Hood, Joshua Knight Kevin Baker, and Roger Wilkerson will serve as active pallbearers.
Marie Hood and Sam Jackson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
