Graveside services for Mrs. Kathleen McCain Magee, age 84 of Ashland, were held on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. Ashland City Cemetery with Bro. Bill Brown officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the First United Methodist Church in Ashland.
Mrs. Magee passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Clay County Hospital. Born in Lineville, she was a resident of Ashland over the last 64 years. She graduated from Lineville High school in 1956 and worked for Southland Manufacturing Company in Textiles for over 25 years. Mrs. Magee loved animals, her grand and great-grandchildren, especially spoiling them. She was active in the Clay County Nursing Home with events as well as at the First United Methodist Church in Ashland where she was a member.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Magee Muller (Michael); her son, Robert Glenn Magee, both of Anniston; two grandsons: Robert Chad Magee (Sharon), of Peachtree City, GA and Caleb Magee, of Coldwater; two great-grandsons: Brennan and Austin Magee, both of Peachtree City, GA; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram Sanders McCain and Amie Albright McCain; her husband, Robert D. Magee, Jr.; her daughter, Cathy Jo Magee; her sister, Lamittus Devaughn; four brothers: Hubert D. “Shorty”, Hilton G., James Byron and John R. McCain.
Pallbearers were her family and friends, the staff of the Clay County Nursing Home served as honorary pallbearers.
