On Saturday, July 11th, 2020, Carmen “Sonny” E. McCrary Jr., loving father of 3 children, passed away at the age of 72. Sonny was born on September, 30th, 1947 in Stevenson, AL to Carmen Sr. and Nancy Bo McCrary. He graduated from Stevenson High School in 1965 and thereafter, attended The University of Alabama. Upon leaving college, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. Sonny spent his professional career as a lead inspector on airports throughout the world. He was an avid Alabama football fan (RTR), motorcycle enthusiast and lover of chocolate. Sonny is survived by his three sons, Ryan, Logan and Taylor McCrary; Daughter-in-law, Kirstin and grandchildren, Collin and Kyleigh McCrary who he loved unconditionally. His memorial service will be held at Rudder Family Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL on Saturday, July 18th, with the viewing starting at 1pm.
