Elizabeth Darlene Bates, age 51 of Athens, passed away Saturday July 11, 2020, at home surrounded by her family.
Avisitation will be held Tuesday July 15, 2020, at McConnell Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday July 16, 2020, in the Chapel beginning at 1:00pm with Bro. Doug Colwell officiating.
Ms. Bates is survived by her life-long friend, Tanya Lindsay; daughters, Sara Bates, Molly and Tennis Maxwell, Hannah Bates, Brooke Rollins, Ashley and Savannah Glover, and their father, Jerry Bates; brother, Timmy and Shannon Boles; sister, Jeannie and David Schoppa; grandchildren, Jaycee Wales, Paisley Adams, Emma Parsons, Blake Maxwell, Bailee Davis, Sophia Rodriguez, Addyson Lamb, and Ryver Glover; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Dorothy Boles; granddaughter, Courteney Wales; and sister, Kim Birdsong.
