Michael Alvin Neighbors, 71, of Huntsville, passed away Wednesday, July 8th.
Michael was an avid gardener who loved nature and enjoyed a plant based lifestyle. He received a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from UAH, as well as receiving Masters Degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from Alabama A&M. One of Michael’s favorite past times was taking long walks with his wife, Nancy, and dog, Pebbles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Nancy Neighbors; daughters, Elina Wells (Derek) and Angela Slaven (Dan); grandson, Scotty Slaven; sister, Jean Mann; and many extended family members. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Willene Neighbors; and his brother, Wayne Neighbors.
The family will be Receiving Friends on Saturday, July 11th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Huntsville Botanical Garden in memory of Mike Neighbors.
