He is survived by two sons, Hal Jordan Minnigan, Brownsburg, IN, and David Winn Minnigan (Lisa), Brentwood, TN; his niece, The Reverend Sarah Winn Nichols, Pasadena, CA; five grandchildren, Bradley Mattox Minnigan (Jessie), Leigh (Minnigan) Valdes (Francisco), Ryan Winn Minnigan (Hannah), Sadie Diedrich Minnigan; two great grandchildren, Sierra Jade Valdes, and Julian Winn Minnigan.
Don graduated from Bucknell University, Harrisburg, PA, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering before joining the United States Navy, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant J.G. While in the Navy, he met Sally Jordan, and they were married on March 20, 1954. After working in New York for a few years, Don, Sally and the children moved to Knoxville, TN, then Nashville, TN, where he worked for the Tennessee Department of Transportation for over 30 years. He was known to many as the guy who could build or fix anything, and he became friends with many of the people for whom he worked. He was a longtime communicant of St Paul’s Episcopal Church, Franklin, TN.
Due to the Covid-19 situation, there will not be any visitation. A family burial service will take place on July 3, 2020, at St. John’s Episcopal Churchyard at Ashwood, in Maury County.
