Florence Mary Allen, age 100, of Guntersville passed away at her residence on Monday, June 1, 2020. Mrs. Allen was a retired elementary school teacher after teaching in Florida for 10 years and in Alabama for 15 years. She was very active in her community by being a member of Warrenton United Methodist Church and former Sunday School teacher; member of United Methodist Women; member of the local AARP chapter #36 and treasurer for 2 years; received “Senior Citizen of the Year” award in 1995, received a special citation for “Outstanding Service to the Community” (1994-1995); R.S.V.P. member since 1992, serving as a volunteer an various community projects; Hospice volunteer since 1989.
She is survived by sons, Sgt. Steve Allen and David Allen; brother, Henry A Daub and 3 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Allen; parents, Horace and Georgia (Lennon) Daub; brother, Horace Daub.
There will be a memorial service for Mrs. Allen at a later date.
