Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn “Granny LaLa” Holmes, age 78, are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, May 24, 2020 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Mrs. Holmes passed away late Thursday in Jackson. She was born March 31, 1942 in Caseyville, IL to the late William and Elva Haller Townsend. She retired from Johnson Controls and enjoyed arts and crafts, dirt track racing, and bingo. She loved her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Allen Townsend and Timothy Tate. Survivors include her two sons, Mark Tate and Bobby Tate (Kathy); three daughters, Melanie Tate (Dena), Melissa Bay, and Dana Wilson; her brother Bill Townsend (Mary); seven grandchildren, Dustin Cruse (Misty), Allen Tate, Tamara Carver (Bryson), Catlynn Bedwell, Jason Bedwell, Alyssa Wilson, and Bentley Wilson; and six great grandchildren,Emma Cruse, Glenn Cruse, Oliver Tate, Kerstain Carver, Kyson Carver, and Isabella Peoples.
