  Billy Franklin Ivey, 85 years of age, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020, in his home surrounded by his family.

Bill was born on July 23, 1934, in Huntsville, AL, to the late Jesse E. Ivey and May (Wiley) Ivey.  He joined the U.S. Navy and served for four years before becoming a minister of the Church of Christ for 53 years until his retirement.

He enjoyed doing our Lord’s work, spending time with his family, and wood crafting or projects of any kind.  He was a beloved preacher, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Leon (and wife Mary) Ivey, William “Al” (and wife Netta) Ivey, and Charles “Brooks” (and wife Dorothy) Ivey.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Josephine Ivey, sons Roger (and wife Lynette) and Billy Joe Ivey.  Grandsons, Roger, Jr. (and wife Brittany) Ivey, and Jesse (and wife Lacy) Ivey, and granddaughter, Shaina (and husband Daniel) Deal as well as greatgrandchildren, Jada, Sadie, Allie, Eli, Penny, and Paisley.

Visitation is Wednesday, May 20, 2020, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Bill Cantrell.  Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery.
