Thurston A. “Bob” Taylor, 81, of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at his residence. Graveside service will be held today, May 12, 2020, at 3:00 p.m., at Mt. Joy Cemetery, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. Rev. Howard Thompson and Rev. Charlie Nicholson will officiate. Thurston was retired from Alabama Power Company after 36 years as a Alabama Control Center Operator. He was an active member of Tired and Retired before it disband. He will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurston and Mary Taylor; sisters, Peggy Taylor Alexander (Don), Mary Ellen Taylor (Bill) and Judy Taylor; grandparents, Jim and Sarah Taylor and Sam and Birtie Aaron; and in-laws, Ottis and Edith Harden. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Brenda Harden Taylor; children, Penny Taylor Graham (Raymond) and Tim Taylor (Mary Ann); grandchildren, Aaron Graham (Amanda), Amber Graham Ware (Jaron), Erika Lancaster (Jesse) and Amber Woods; great grandchildren, Alexis “Lexi” Graham, Parker Ware, Devin Graham, Jaxson Graham, Walker Ware, and Cade Lancaster and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to Alabama Hospice and Kindred at Home for all the wonderful care given. Pallbearers will be Tim Taylor, Raymond Graham, Aaron Graham, Jaron Ware, Ernie Nicholson and Eddie Nicholson.
