Shirley Ann  Strange Meacham Shirley Ann Strange-Meacham, 80, peacefully passed away on May 8th, 2020 at her home. She was born January 26th, 1940, in Huntsville, Alabama and is the daughter of Elmer Strange and Ruby McGrew Strange.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Ken Meacham, and sisters, Kathryn Strange Hamner, Lowris Strange Henderson, Frances Strange Balch, and Maurice Strange Henderson.

She is survived by her sons, Chris Meacham and wife, Alston, of Toney, AL and Jeff Meacham and wife, Cynthia, of Mobile, AL; and brother, William Edwin Strange and wife, Nancy, of Sarasota, FL

Shirley worked on Redstone Arsenal until 1970, after the birth of her first son. Later in her life, she worked as secretary at Mount Zion Baptist Church, from 1990 – 1996.

Shirley was a devout Christian, loving wife, loving mother, and friend to everyone she met. She truly lived her life to love others. Shirley enjoyed gardening, photography, scrapbooking, music and reading, but most of all, she enjoyed sitting in the sunroom, watching the birds and watching the world go by with her beloved husband Ken and family.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 12th at Huntsville Memory Gardens. Unfortunately, due to current restrictions, this will be limited to a small gathering of immediate family.
