A full and peaceful life well-lived was the life of Robert Burley Hayes III. He was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on January 2, 1959 and departed this earthly life at the age of 61 on May 6, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. After graduating from Smyrna High School in 1977, Robert continued his education by attaining certification from the United States Department of Labor as a master tooling engineer, mold maker, machinist, and welder. Being a gifted craftsman and along with possessing a strong work ethic, he applied his talent and took pride in every aspect in life. He lived his life enjoying the outdoors, fishing, working in his garage, watching the Dallas Cowboys, riding his Harley, and driving his corvette. But most of all, Robert cherished the time spent with his beloved family and being “Paw Paw” to his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert Burley Hayes and Celo Hayes and maternal grandparents, Tulus Calvin Ozment and Fannie Mae Naron Ozment. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Hayes of Winchester, sons; Joshua Hayes of Seattle Washington, and Jeremy (Shannan) Hayes of Chickamauga, Georgia; daughter, Jessica Hayes of Brentwood, Tennessee; step-daughter, Erin Kincannon of Winchester, Tennessee; parents, Robert Burley and Amelia (Ozment) Hayes II of Nolensville, Tennessee; brother, Timothy (Audra) Hayes of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sister, Pamela (Timothy) Gambill of Smyrna, Tennessee; grandchildren, Penn Hayes, Cohen Hayes, and Campbell Hayes; and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2-4pm on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 4:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Carl Tucker officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens. The register book and memorial cards will be available under the carport of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home during visitation.
