William Danny Wilkerson, age 72 of Keith Springs, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A native of Franklin County, he was born on August 15, 1947 to William “Bill” H. and Vera Ann (Nasol) Wilkerson. Danny served his country in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Before his retirement, he was employed for forty years with General Motors. Danny was an avid Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Eagles fan. He raised Tennessee Walking Horses and enjoyed sitting on the front porch supervising everything going on around him. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Eliza May Judge Wilkerson. He is survived by his loving wife, Lanora Wilkerson of Keith Springs; daughters, Julie Vinckus of Keith Springs, and Chelsy Simms of Hazel Green, Alabama; sons, Billy Ray (Kim) Wilkerson of Romeoville, Illinois, and John Daniel (Nicole) Wilkerson of Illinois; grandchildren, Billy (Paige) Vinckus of Clarksville, Michael Wilkerson of Illinois, and Joshua Wilkerson of Illinois, and Beau Wyatt Hagood of Hazel Green, Alabama; great-granddaughter, Ari Vinckus of Clarksville; brother, Robert (Donna) Wilkerson of Boilingbrook, Illinois; step-daughter, Courtney Ballew of Hazel Green, Alabama; step-grandchildren, Landen, Cason, and Brycin Burrough; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other friends. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday, May 8, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2020 in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Coutta officiating. Interment will follow at Keith Springs Cemetery with military honors bestowed. The register book and memorial cards will be available under the carport of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home during visitation and prior to the funeral service.
