Janell Thorne Poole transitioned from this earthly life to her Heavenly Home on April 28, 2020 at home after a brief illness. Janell, lovingly called “Nell” was born April 27, 1961 in Red Bay, AL to the late Sam and Lula Mae Martin Thorne. She confessed hope in Christ at a young age and joined Carter’s Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Tishomingo, MS. On December 30, 2000, Nell married the love of her life, Karl Poole. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family. Nell had a beautiful smile and laugh that would light up any room.
Graveside services will be Saturday, May 2, 11 a.m. at Carter’s Branch Cemetery, Tishomingo, MS. Burial will be in Carter’s Branch Cemetery, Tishomingo, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Nell is survived by her husband –Karl Poole, Tishomingo, MS; one sister – May Allen, Tishomingo, MS; uncles – Johnny Southward and Jeffrey Southward; aunts – Aera McDaniel, Mamie Mason, Pearline Love, Minnie Southward and Ella Farris; special cousin – Barbara Martin-Abington; a special friend and beautician – Claudette Goodloe and one nephew – Kevin Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mollie Thorne.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 2, 10-11 a.m. at Carter’s Branch Cemetery.
