George Wesley Floyd Jr, age 83 of Decherd, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Waters of Winchester. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Decherd on April 22, 1937 to the late George Wesley and Mary (Payne) Floyd Sr. George, along with his wife Lois, owned and operated George Floyd Paint Center for many years. He enjoyed anything and everything that had to do with paint, but most of all he cherished the time spent with his beloved family. George was a devoted member of Winchester Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Ricky Floyd and Tracy Floyd; brother, Herman Floyd; and sister, Mary Etta Roberts. George is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Lois Floyd; son, David (Denise) Floyd; brother, Grady (Alberta) Floyd; grandchildren, Tara Floyd, Jeremy (Patricia) Floyd, and Jacob (Kristen) Floyd; and great-grandson, Trace Floyd. Private family services are planned with burial at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Bro. Tony Etheridge officiating and Jeremy Floyd, Trace Floyd, Jacob Floyd, Tony Etheridge, Revel Etheridge, and Robert Elliott serving as pallbearers.
