Joseph Rudolph “Rudy” Howell, age 73, of Leoma, TN passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 at his residence. He was retired from TVA and Dura Automotive, a member of Christian Fellowship Church, a veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era and the Army National Guard.
Rudy loved God, his family, and friends. He was a cut up who never met a stranger. He loved nature and was a gentle, tenderhearted soul. Rudy could sing a great gospel harmony and often did with the Price Family. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and tinkering, putting up birdhouses and feeding the birds.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Rosie DeRolf Howell; his wife, Kathy Price Howell; a brother, Doug Howell; and sisters, Linda Wilburn and Bonnie Henkel.
He is survived by four children, LaShawn Baxter (Joe) of Leoma, TN, Brandon Howell (Tiffany) of Columbia, TN, Ashley Owens (Micheal) and Michelle Buie (fiance Raymond Davis) both of Leoma, TN; brothers, Arley Howell of Leoma, TN and Stanley Howell of Elkmont, AL; sister, Christine Richter of Leoma, TN; grandchildren, Landon and Shelby Owens, Kasen and Benton Buie, and Adelyn Howell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a private visitation was held with the family. A memorial service and inurnment with full military honors will be held when restrictions are lifted.
