James C. Prince Jr, age 87 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020. A native of Franklin County, he was born on August 24, 1932 in Winchester to James Clarence and Alta Lou (Weddington) Prince Sr. James enlisted in the Tennessee National Guard in 1951 and then was drafted in the United States Army, serving his country during the Korean War. He retired from the United States Postal Service after forty years of service. James enjoyed working on old cars and watching his grandchildren play sports, but most of all he cherished the time spent with his family. He was a devoted member of Winchester Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Allen C. Prince, Annie Ruth Jacobson, and Minnie Lee Prince. James is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Judy Edde Prince of Winchester; son, Jimmy (Kathy) Prince of Winchester; daughter, Kellye (Mike) Lewis of Winchester; grandchildren, Jamie Prince, James Clarence Prince III (Brittany), Josh (Alexa) Gaby, Matt Gaby (Scott Morris), and Andrew (Carlie) Gaby; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service is planned at Franklin Memorial Gardens. The register book and memorial cards will be available under the carport of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home from 9-10:30 am on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. An attendant will be available to assist you.
