Mr.  Ronald "Ron" Clarence Harris Mr. Ronald “Ron” Clarence Harris, age 86, of Arab, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Harris was born in Etowah County, Alabama on August 1, 1933 to the late Clarence George Harris and Carrie Josephine Walker Harris. After graduating from high school Ron made the decision to focus on his career pathway, joining the U.S. Navy and protecting his country in the Korean War. Mr. Harris didn’t stop there; he became a Missile Commander at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama where he later retired his position. Ron had many hobbies that he picked up throughout his lifetime including; loving his family and grandchildren, gardening, traveling, listening to country & gospel music, bowling and eating out with family and friends. Mr. Harris had been a dedicated member of the Arab First Baptist Church since March 31, 1961.

Mr. Harris is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sara Evelyn Bailey Harris; daughters, Richi Reynolds (Scott), Vicki Jones (Mark Holley) and Kerri Clemons (Tim); brother, Jackie Harris (Donna); sister, Jeanette Sarrott; grandchildren, Haley Clemons, Brendan Jones, Ayla Jones, J.D. Reynolds and Rob Reynolds.

In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Wayne Harris, Kyle “Buth” Harris and Verbal Gene Harris; sisters, Mattie Sue Harris and Garnita Sarrott.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020 at the Arab Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Paul Murphy, officiating.

Pallbearers honoring Mr. Harris will include: Brendon Jones, J.D. Reynolds, Rob Reynolds, Scott Reynolds, Tommy Griffin, Mark Holley and Tim Clemons.

Honorary Pallbearers will include: Wayne Washam, Leonard Jolley and Edwin Cooley.

Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
