Graveside services for Mr. Thomas Edgar May, age 93 of Lineville, were held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Clay County Memory Gardens with Rev. David Holcombe officiating.
Mr. May passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the Clay County Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Clay County; a U.S. Army Veteran who served during WW II then worked for several years at the Anniston Army Depot. He was also a member of the Lineville Masonic Lodge 219 F&AM and had just received his 50 year pin.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lillian May of Lineville; his daughter, Gale Dingler of Heflin; his son, Dale Caldwell (Ginger) of Lineville; his sister, Katie Vickers of Newsite; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas LeRoy May and Roxie Carrie Strickland May; his sister, Sara Jane Marable; and two grandchildren: Daniel Caldwell and David East.
Pallbearers were Ricky Whaley, Johnnie Morrison, Alan Flowers, and Amos Fuller.
Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of the arrangements.
